Blogging for Business Presentation

12 Dec 2003 by Jason Fried

If anyone is interested, here’s the presentation (in blog-like format) from a recent 1-hour Blogging for Business session I gave at the Ragan Web Content Management conference here in Chicago on Tuesday. I ran it in Safari and didn’t test it on other browsers, but it should work just fine. There’s a small link at the bottom of each page that will take you to the next page.

Yes, Misto = Basecamp. How about that as a subtle announcement? Much much much more soon.

Thanks! That's possibly the best summary of the answer to the question "what's a blog?" that I've seen. (can I just carry it with me on a big sign when I go to meetings?)

Well done. It's easier to convince clients that blogs will help their businesses with a clear presentation like this. Thanks!

Nice presentation. Does a very good job of explaining why blogging might be valuable to business. Because, at first, I thought the idea of using blogs for business was, at best, daft, if not downright dumb. Now, thinking of it as a more economical publishing tool, it makes a lot more sense.

Wow, I can't believe my humble little blog was mentioned under your blog examples!

Considering that I'm a 37 Signals devotee, seeing that really made my day. Thanks.

Thanks SVN! Yours is another cool approach to using a web browser instead of PowerPoint (or Keynote or whatever) for a presentation. I wonder how many, many times smaller those HTML files are than a PowerPoint presentation with the exact same content would be?

who cares? it's a presentation on a laptop or broadband connection.

This topic is one we will tackle later in this article, but it refers to making sure that your application and the dock aren't fighting it out for supremacy of the screen.
