Amazing animation. “In 1969, a 14-year-old Beatle fanatic named Jerry Levitan, armed with a reel-to-reel tape deck, snuck into John Lennon’s hotel room in Toronto and convinced John to do an interview. This was in the midst of Lennon’s ‘bed-in’ phase, during which John and Yoko were staying in hotel beds in an effort to promote peace. 38 years later, Jerry has produced a film about it.” [via DS]

Beautiful!

Beautiful. Makes me miss John, as well. Makes me feel old to think that I am the establishment now and I don’t think there are many artists with the courage Lennon had to challenge borders and preconceptions.

Why are you only showing 1/4 of the frame?

robert 09 Dec 08

um. also, it was nominated for an academy award last year and you can get it through itunes?

it is a very cool animation though!

The embed tag is missing width and height attributes, so in firefox you only see about 1/3 of the video…

The walrus was Paul.

I’m just sayin’.

Great done. Respect. Hard Work. Those illustrations of the videos are great. There are quite a few very well done, but they don’t add really more information to the audio.

We’re all Hitler inside. We’re all Christ inside.

Nothing = Canada… that was a good one. :)

Dave 10 Dec 08

@smartminion if you think peace is ‘philosophical nonsense’ you should rethink some of your values.

wow

Laughing out loud about the Gap commercial at the end of the video with all of these “stars” dancing and wearing Gap clothes. We have certainly come a long way. Startling contrast.

Great video by the way.

Thanks for posting this! The imagery was fantastic.

This reminded me why John was always my favorite Beatle…
