Wow. What are the odds? Wish I made that kind of revenue :P.

Yes, there needs to be "David's income for Q3 was %805.9 million" to make an even - er odd - three!

Or $805.9 million rather. Those pesky keyboards and their placing of keys next to each other.

What a strange coincidence.

Interesting to see that 302.9 million of Google's 805.9 million is "TAC - Traffic Acquisition Costs", i.e. money they paid out for AdSense. How is that revenue for Google exactly? Or maybe I'm missing something.

Not the way I read it. They were trying to account for the profit. They are making a 27% gross margin on AdSense. So if they sell $1b worth of Adsense, that translates into a gross profit of $300m. They'll need to grow that pie a fair bit more to justify their share price.

I'll take the .9 part and they can round it down. For a quarter that's not too shabby.

Zod: It works the other way around... TAC is an expense. Taken out of the revenue. AdSense is very profitable still.

Snotty usability experts

Re: "snotty"

Well, we try to answer all support emails within minutes of receiving them and we try to keep our answers short and direct and honest (which means saying "no" or "I'm sorry but that's just the way it is" a lot of the times). Some may take that as snotty, but the vast majority appreciate quick focused honest answers that don't set false expectations.
